About NHB GEAR

NHB GEAR's roots began in early 1998. Known as HCK East then, we were the East Coast's first offical Howard Combat Kimonos (HCK) representative. Today NHB GEAR consistently remains one of the number one HCK sales reps in the world.

In 2000, NHBgear.com was born and we began offering our own line of clothing and gear called Jiu Jitsu Gear, as well as the best DVD instructionals and events.

In 2001, the NHB Gear / Jiu Jitsu Gear Forum (www.nhbgear.com/forum) was established, an online community of grapplers and other martial artists sharing techniques, training tips, and opinions. Several thousand members now read and participate.

In 2004, NHB Gear began researching printing techniques to solve the problem of gi patches and rash guards cracking and peeling when printed with traditional screenprinting. NHB Gear pioneered the use of digital dye sublimation printing and quickly became the top producer of gi patches for Jiu Jitsu schools in the US. That same year we introduced the SIDEFLY (tm) grappling shorts, a totally new interpretation of the standard grappling boardshort and also intriduced our line of moisture wicking, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal shirts and rash guards.

The start of 2005 marked the introduction of the NHB GEAR brand with a new logo. The No Holds Barred logo represents the blood, sweat, tears, bumps, scrapes, and bruises that are par for the course in our chosen sport, be it MMA, Jiu Jitsu, Thai Boxing, or any other "extreme" sport. We are a unique breed of athletes and enthusiasts with a love of the game many cannot comprehend. NHB Gear represents this spirit.

In 2008, we opened the first MMA fight shop in the DC Metro area so that customers could try on a gi or purchase the latest MMA gear in person.
