Heys guys, I picked up a copy of the Inner Realm DVD done by Rhadi Ferguson and Cara Heads. I placed my order late Sunday night and the DVD was in my mailbox yesterday. So needless to say I was surprised with how fast the DVD got to my house. I ordered a DVD from another company the same day and the schedule shipping date for that one is NEXT Tuesday! So yes as you can see Rhadi and his crew have GREAT customer service. Anyways on to the review.
The DVD was put together extremenly well. The running time is about 38 minutes, its broken down into chapters which is nice. I also like that they show actual video clips of them training. Not only them succeding when they train, but also when they fail. Heres some of the topics that they covered.
Becoming The Best - In order to become the best you have to train with the best. Simply as that! Like Cara said, "You have to pay the cost to be the boss". You have to go out and seek the best trainers and training partners. The best way to train and all of their "secrets". Iron sharpens iron. No question about that. If you dont have someone thats willing to push you and give you that HARD training that you need than you will only be as strong as your weakest link.
What It Takes To Be Great - This topic covers just that. How to be great. Rhadi said that inorder to be great, you have to be willing to do what the others wont. And not just do it for one day, but to do it day in and day out. His example was that when he goes to the gym to lift weights, he dosent go to the gym to lift weights. He goes to the gym because he knows that when he leaves the gym he will be BETTER than he was BEFORE he got there. He has a purpose for EVERYTHING that he does. I like this because some people go to the gym and just go through the motions. They have no direction when they training. Like Rhadi says "people dont plan to fail they fail to plan". And "if you're not perparing to win then you're perparing yourslef to lose".
Emotional Approach and Positive Attitude - As elite athletes they put their body through MASSIVE amounts of stress. Not just physically but mentally and emotionaly as well. They covered how a positive mental attitude helps your training. Its easy to get discouraged during training. One day you might be at the top of your game and the next day it might seem like nothing clicks. Cara used herself as an example, she said that 1 year she lost ALL of her events. Everyone expected her to win these events but for one reason or another she lost. Everyone called it quits on her but she didnt give up on herself. She kept a positive mental attitude and the next year she was on top of the winners platiform.
Status Quo - Rhadi said that his toughest competitor wasnt actually a competitor. He said it wasnt even a person, he said it was the Status Quo. He talks about how people have low status quos for themselves. He used a school district as his example. Some school districs have higher status quos than another. Same goes with people. Some people might have higher expections than others. Like someone might say that winning Grapplers Quest is at the top of their Status quo. Well so what, after every GQ theres over 70 people that can call themselves GQ champion. Times that by lets say 5 events per year thats over 350 people that can claim that title. Well what about being a National Judo Champ or Pan Am champ. That only happens once a year and thats a little bit more difficult. But do you stop there? Well what about being an Olymipan? Well now thats getting a little bit tough, but yeah its nice to be an Olympian but wouldnt it be better to be an OLYMPIC CHAMPION? The BEST OF THE BEST!
I purposly left some material out because I wouldnt do it any justice if I tried to explain it. I dont even know if my review did the DVD any justice. Its hard to explain how important some of the topics are. Some people that watch the DVD might not understand the concept of the DVD. Its like the book Think and Grow Rich. Some people get it and others dont. But the ones that get it and IMPLEMENT what they got from it are the ones who are the Bill Gates, Donal Trumps, Micheal Jordans, Berdard Hopkins, in life.
All in all I would say that the DVD was AWESOME! If your looking for a quick fixing scheme or a workout that will tell you how to beat everyone and anyone, than this DVD is not for you. This isnt the purpose of the DVD. The purpose of the DVD is to give you a glimps of the Inner Realm. And the Inner Realm is where the champions play.
