2007 ADCC Superfight change: Arona is out
Submitted by: Kid Peligro / Sr Editor
    Posted On 04/28/2007

ADCC Organizers have just received word from Ricardo Arona's camp that the former Champion is withdrawing form the Superfight. Arona's camp informed the committee that Ricardo had a relapse of the Dengue fever that he had contracted recently and will not be able to compete comes next weekend in Trenton, NJ. Arona is back in the hospital with a high fever. According to his camp Arona may have started training too hard and too early and his ammune system was not up 100% and then the relapse

The committee is looking at all available fighters to select the best for the Superfight against Roger Gracie. More on this as it develops!

Hopefully they put Roger in his bracket. This fight is obviously not meant to happen and there is only a week left (Lister, now Arona.  Pulling Marcelo or Xande out of their bracket for this would not be cool...

i think pe de pano or monson would be the most plausable options.

Would pe de pano and roger fight, seeing as they are both gracie barra guys?

The person i would love to see thou would be Rigan.

I think Monson is the most feasible and logical choice at this moment. Roger and Pe de Pano are teammates and I'd hate to see Marcelinho out of the 66-77KG division. Xande hasn't done much in ADCC to warrant a superfight. Monson has 2 titles in 2 different weight classes and he's the champ for the 99KG+ division in 2005.

Sakurinho makes sense.  Monson is the most logical choice.  Boring to watch, but highly successful.

    That would be funny:
Announcer #1: Bravo is pulls guard and is setting up the rubber guard.
2nd Announcer: Holy tomatoes, Roger has bent bravo's leg into his arse.
Announcer #1:  OMG he's doing the same thing to the other leg.
2nd Announcer: Bravo is going into his pouch and pulls a bag of the ganga and blows the smoke towards roger's direction.  Roger looks befuddled.  Bravo slips his legs out of his arse and applies the triangle.

DOES ROGER TAP.......HuhHuh  anyone else want to continue the story.

roger does not tap, but he gets a contact high. out of nowhere, he busts out a huge bag of doritos; he and bravo stop the match and proceed to munch and giggle for the rest of the day.

2007 ADCC Superfight - The voting is finished and the winner who will fight Roger Gracie is . . .
Submitted by: Kid Peligro / Sr Editor
    Posted On 04/30/2007

The ADCC Organizers could not reach a decision on who should fight Roger Gracie in the Superfight so they formed a sub-committee to vote for two candidates and the winner would be selected.

The candidates are currently in top shape and training to compete in '07 ADCC so they are ready to go:

Jeff Monson - Jeff is a multiple times ADCC Heavyweight Champion ('99) and current over 99KG champion

John Olav Einemo - Einemo was the 2003 U99KG Champion and the last person to beat Roger in ADCC (semi-finals of 2003). In '05 Einemo fought with a torn pectoral muscle and still got 4th place

The winner of the voting and the opponent for Roger Gracie in the Superfight is John Olav Einemo of Norway by a 5 - 1 vote. Head organizer Guy Neivens did not have to cast a vote to break a possible tie

The committee comprised of the following members voted a follows:

Kid Peligro - ADCC Worldwide advisor - John Olav
Marko Leisten- Head of ADCC Europe - John Olav
John Donehue - Head of ADCC Australia - John Olav
Miguel Iturratte - Head of BODOG FIGHT and ADCC USA - John Olav
Mark Robinson - Head of ADCC Africa - Jeff Monson
Peter Baltalkis - ADCC Head Referee - John Olav

Congratulations to John Olav. Fireworks will be the order of the match as Roger will be looking to avenge his loss and John Olav to prove he is the best!

This could be THE most exciting ADCC Superfight ever. May the best man win!!!

PS With Olav out of the over 99KG division there is now an open spot in that weight class. Qualified fighters should submit an email thecohiba@yahoo.com with your entry for consideration
