oh yeah. Just go with the guillotine. I like the punch cutters, too. BUT a lot of your finer cigars have a shallow cap and a punch will knock that cap loose and your cigar will start falling apart on you. Have both on you and use discretion.

    Perfectly good humidor here.

Very nice find.  I think that may be my xmas gift to myself.  I like the fact it has a lock on it, to keep the grunions out.

For immediate use though, I picked up two gallon or so size humidipouches and I have one with dry sticks in it and the second has my moist sticks in it.  I also picked up a nice plastic hardcase travel humidor that holds 5 sticks and has a little puck that you can put some water on or put a humipouch in.

I went to a local Havana Connection and checked out some triple torch lighters... I don't know how I've lived so long without knowing of such awesomeness.  They seemed very big on Xikar lighters and cutters and mentioned that they have a lifetime warranty.  If I have any issues, take it back to Havana Connection and they replace it, no questions asked.

Get yourself a couple of 150 size humidors. Make sure you follow the directions in how to season them and bring them up to proper humidity and stick to the gel cups--don't make a mess with water. Some people buy big furniture style units and then if there is a problem, they ruin their whole collection.
A couple?  300 cigars?  That's kinda nuts.  I have seen some coffee table humidors that I would like, but I don't think it would go over well with my under 6 brood.  It would be inconvenient having to start all over again if/when they got into it.  I mean, we've already done the sleepless nights and diaper changes.  I don't see me being able to convince my wife to do it again.

no, dude. the humidors that hold 150 cigars are not that large. Pretty small when you start putting sticks in them, actually. You have to have a variety and when you do, you better have a place to put them. Unless your going to be the guy who shows up with old cigar, trying to pass them off as fresh.

By the way, I thought you worked for the federales?
In recent memory I've worked for the Federal Reserves and the United States Marine Corp, I currently have an interim security clearance and am in processing for a secret clearance.  I'm currently employed with http://www.swedishmatch.com/ at their North American Headquarters.  I dress hella nice every day, like church, but with chew and cigars.  At 34 I just bought my first set of cufflinks to go with my first french cuff shirt.

I used single or double guillotines for years (and occasionally my teeth) until the day I first saw a bullet punch.  Chrissy got me a really nice one and I haven't used anything else since.  Next time you're over my place I'll show you.

Do you have a make/model # on the punch that you like so much? It seems from this thread people like them a lot so maybe my dislike of them has come from using cheap/shitty ones instead of a flawed design.

The guy at the cigar shop showed me one that he likes that is built into the bottom of the lighter.

If you don't use a lighter for the cigars, save your money and get this onehttp://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d.html/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/189-3845974-9232722?a=B0009I3EYM. Just don't put it on yr keychain, it'll get all fucked up.

You have to keep an eye on the humidors like that b/c they often come with incentives. I bought that same humidor last year and it came with 50 5Vegas cigars. And they're not bad sticks, y'know.  The branded humidors often come with stuff.

As far as the lighters, yeah. The only pain is that the contacts get dirty, but as long as you have a good relationship with the store or are smart enough to clean them yourself, you're alright.
I have a nice Calibre lighter that does a fine job and has a punch on the bottom for cuts--sharp as hell so no problems there.

    Enjoy.

I got it at a cigar shop, and paid around $50 for it, I think.  It was in the case with the expensive lighters.

Such a chick response.  I bet if it was a skirt and blouse set you would be able to read me the bar code from memory.
