I recently committed to create a BJJ team to go against Oleg Taktarov's Sambo All-Stars on February 21 in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn! Basically, he has 10 guys ranging in weight and I have to find them opponents. His team is as follows:

Would this be gi or no-gi? When would weigh-ins be?

We agreed on both sporting the traditional Sambo uniform. Gi tops, shorts, and shoes. Weigh-ins are day of.

Pretty similar to BJJ Rules, one exception being only a minute of groundwork before grapplers are restarted on the feet. It will also be 3 rounds of 3 minutes each. Same points for takedowns, sweep, guard pass, mount, and back control.

All chokes and armlocks are legal. Ironically enough, they've chosen to disallow heel hooks. I, of course, said we'd approve any locks they wanted.

Chim - I just confirmed with McLaughlin that he will represent you against the most experienced 165 pounder. Sounds like he is extending the olive branch here.

If you don't find someone suitable at 140 I'm interested. Purple belt under renzo gracie/ john rallo. I've lost my last two mma fights at 135 but feel ready to go in bjj or sub grappling. Let me know if you need some one.
